My rooster started crowing at 4am nonstop until I hung a red light in the coop last Tuesday
Ngl I was ready to rehome him after three sleepless nights, but swapping the white bulb for a red one calmed him right down. Anyone else tried lighting tricks to fix rooster noise?

Oh MAN I feel this! My neighbor tried everything with his noisy bantam but switching to a dimmer bulb with like a warm orange tint actually worked way better than he expected too. It messes with their internal clock somehow, makes them think it's still nighttime longer than the white lights do.

Wait, are you saying the orange tint is doing something beyond just dimming it? I mean, I get that dimmers help because they're not as bright and all, but I didn't realize the actual color of the light could trick their brains into staying quiet longer. That's pretty wild honestly. My rooster just goes off at like 4 AM regardless of what I do, and I've tried blackout curtains and everything short of a soundproof box. Did your neighbor just swap the bulb or did he have to like gradually adjust the timing over a few weeks to get that to work? Because if it's as simple as buying a warmer bulb I'm about to run to the hardware store right now.
