My neighbor saw my chicken coop and said 'you know they'll attract coyotes, right?'

That comment in my driveway three days ago has me second-guessing my whole setup, so has anyone here in a suburban area actually had a big predator problem with a secure run?

Bird feeders attract raccoons and rats more than coyotes. A secure run with hardware cloth buried around the edges is a different story.

Totally get where wren217 is coming from, you gotta protect your birds. But I'm with grant.luna on this one, it feels like a slippery slope. If we start banning things just because they might attract some wildlife, where does it end? My neighbor has a compost pile that brings in way more raccoons than my feeder ever did. Seems like good setup and common sense should be enough, right?

That logic would ban bird feeders too.
