The 811 dig line in my county has a 2 day wait and nobody told me, so I hand dug 30 feet of trench
Called 811 in Maricopa County two Saturdays ago for a simple fence post job. Lady on the phone said the earliest locate was Tuesday. That is 3 full days of a hole in my yard and a dog that digs. So I grabbed a sharpshooter and did 30 feet of trench by hand in 108 degree heat. Took me 9 hours and I lost 6 pounds. Turns out the wait is normal in summer because every pool and solar crew in the valley is calling at the same time. Anyone else just skip the ticket and gamble, or do you schedule your digs a solid week out like a real adult?
