Spent 6 weekends building a pergola because I didn't check the ground first
Leveled the posts three times before realizing my whole yard slopes a foot across. Anybody else learn the hard way that you need to dig test holes before you start digging the real holes?

That slope tax hits different.

I switched to a different binding method entirely and it made a huge difference. Bought a pair of demo bindings that let me adjust the forward lean without any tools. Took a few runs to get the angle right but once I did, that slope tax stopped being such a problem. Now I can actually enjoy the steep stuff without fighting my gear the whole time.
