My neighbor told me my raised beds looked like a graveyard, so I fixed them

He said the long skinny beds with no separation looked like rows of graves, which was funny but also made me realize he was right about the layout being off. I rebuilt them last month as four square beds with paths in between, and now the garden actually feels like a garden. Has anyone else had a casual comment completely change how they approached a build?

My neighbor once told me my tomato cages looked like "the skeletons of failed ambitions" and I honestly didn't garden for two weeks after that. But I get it, sometimes you need someone outside your own head to point out the obvious. My first raised bed layout was basically three long strips that I called "the coffin collection" after that comment. Yours sounds way more functional now, four squares with paths is basically the gold standard.
