Found out my deck stain was failing because of one dumb mistake
Tbh I been staining my backyard deck every spring for 5 years now and the finish always peeled by August. Last week I read the label on the can while waiting for paint to dry and it said apply when wood temp is between 50 and 80 degrees. I checked my garage notes and realized I was always doing it in late April when the boards were still cold, like 45 degrees. So this weekend I waited for a 70 degree afternoon and it went on totally different, way smoother and soaked in. Anyone else had a finish fail just because of temperature, not the product?
