Dropped $700 on a pergola kit, then found the boards warped in 3 months

Bought one of those big box store pergola kits last spring. Looked great in the picture. Put it together over a weekend with my brother. By August the cross beams had bowed bad, like a smile curve. The wood was green, not kiln dried. Checked the fine print, the warranty doesn't cover warping. Has anyone else had luck with cedar vs. that pressure treated stuff for outdoor frames?
