The trail sign that lied to me for 3 summers in a row
There's this junction on the Salmon River loop that says 2.4 miles to the campsite, but every single time I've hiked it, it takes closer to 3.8. Last weekend I finally paced it out with my GPS and counted the switchbacks, it's not even close. I'm wondering if the sign was put up before a reroute or if someone just guessed the number. Has anyone else found a marker that's consistently that off, and did you report it to the ranger station or just add your own correction sticker?

That's wild. 2.4 vs 3.8 is a whole extra mile and a half of switchbacks. I'd just sharpie "lie" on the damn thing and move on.
