Appreciation post: Online route sharing making trip planning easier

I've seen a lot of people posting full trip reports with waypoints and photos. This really helps when I'm looking for new places to go. Last month, I used a shared route to explore a lesser-known loop in the Sierra Nevada. It saved me hours of map work and was spot on.

Totally agree. It's not just about saving time on map work. When folks share those trip reports, they often add little tips you won't find on any map. Like which creek crossings get deep in spring, or where to find the flat tent spots with sunrise views. That extra info from real people makes the adventure way smoother. What's the best piece of advice you've picked up from a shared route?

Shared routes are great until you follow @marktorres' advice into a swamp, lmao.
