Tried a written note to my dad about his advice on my car loan, way better than talking in person
So my dad keeps telling me how to handle money and it always turns into a yelling match on the phone. Last month I owed $1,200 on my car and he wanted me to pay it off right away, but I wanted to keep some cash saved. Instead of calling him, I wrote a short note and left it on his kitchen table before he got home. He texted me the next day saying he got it and we talked calm for once, no shouting at all. When we argue face to face he cuts me off after like 10 seconds every time. Has anyone else tried writing stuff down instead of talking in person with a parent about money? Did it help or did they get mad you didn't say it to their face?
1200 bucks and he wanted it gone same day? That's wild, my dad would've done the exact same thing though. Writing it down is smart, beats getting cut off 10 seconds in every time.
