Told my mom I couldn't lend her $400 for a car repair at her kitchen table in Dayton
So last Saturday I'm sitting at my mom's kitchen table in Dayton and she asks if I can spot her $400 for a transmission fix on her Civic. I'd already loaned her $600 back in April and never saw a dime, so instead of just saying yes like usual, I asked her to sit down and we wrote out what she could pay back each paycheck. She got quiet for a second, then said 'I hate asking you,' and we agreed on $50 every two weeks starting the 15th. It was weird and awkward but honestly better than me fuming about it for another 6 months. Anyone else found a way to loan family money without it turning into a whole thing?
