PSA: I handed my brother a written budget instead of a speech, and he actually paid me back
My brother owes me $600 from a car repair last October, and for months I kept planning this big talk about how he needs to step up. Finally I just wrote it down on one page, what he owes, what I paid, and a payback plan of $50 a month. I handed it to him at my mom's place in Akron on a Sunday and said nothing else. He looked at it for a minute and asked if he could do $75 instead to finish faster. Six months in and he's paid $450, on time, no drama. Turns out talking face to face turned it into a fight about feelings, but the paper made it about numbers. Has anyone else had way better luck putting a money talk in writing instead of saying it out loud?
