My sister said my 'emergency' cash requests were actually a pattern

She sat me down last month and said, 'You've asked me for $200 three times this year, always with a different crisis.' I realized she was right, it was never a real emergency, just bad planning. I set up a separate savings account and put $50 in it every payday. Now I have my own cushion and haven't asked her once. Has anyone else had a family member point out a money habit you didn't see?

It's wild how many people live in that constant small crisis mode. You see it with people always rushing to the store for one forgotten ingredient, or scrambling to find a charger at 2% battery. It's just putting out tiny fires instead of having a basic system. Your $50 payday thing is the fix, it's building the system so the small stuff stops feeling like an emergency.

That "tiny fires" feeling really does drain your mental energy over time.
