She called again last Tuesday asking for $300 to cover a bill, and I finally said 'I can help you make a budget instead' like my friend told me to. She got quiet for a second but then actually agreed to sit down and look at her numbers this weekend. Has anyone else found that offering a different kind of help works better than just saying no?
