I used to think my parents owed me help with my car payment.
My dad gave me a check for $200 last month, but he looked tired. He said, 'This is the last one, kid.' I realized I'm 24 and they're still paying for my stuff. I never asked about their bills. Now I feel bad for pushing them. Anyone else get a wake-up call about asking family for money?

Hit me like a ton of bricks around the same age. Saw my mom skip getting new glasses for years so she could send me cash. That check your dad gave you, that tired look, that's the real cost. Makes you grow up fast when you finally see it. Good on you for getting it now.

But what if that's just what parents do?

Honestly, just set them up on your own account for future stuff to make it easier on everyone.
