I changed my mind about splitting gifts evenly after seeing the numbers

My sister and I have been arguing for years about how to split our parents' gift budget for Christmas. She always wanted to go 50/50 on everything, but I make way less money and it felt unfair. I was ready to just give up and let her pay for less stuff, but then I pulled up a budgeting app last week and ran the numbers. I found out she actually spends 18% of her monthly income on gifts while I only spend 12% of mine. That stat really hit me because it meant she was sacrificing more proportionally than I was. I had always assumed it was equal burden, but it's not at all. Now I'm thinking her 50/50 idea is actually fairer than I gave it credit for. Has anyone else run percentage comparisons like that and changed your mind about who owes what?
