Had to choose between letting my brother move in or saying no to protect my own space

I picked saying no after he asked to crash for 'a few weeks' last month, and it was really hard but I'm glad I set that limit. Anyone else had to draw a line with a family member about housing?

Wait, he asked for a few weeks a month ago and is still there? That's exactly why you had to say no, good on you for seeing that coming.

Actually he asked for a few days, not weeks. But same idea, right? It always turns into way longer. They get comfortable and then you're stuck. You made the right call saying no from the start. Saves so much trouble later.
