Finally had the money talk with my brother about that loan
So my brother borrowed $800 from me six months ago to fix his car. I've been avoiding bringing it up because family money stuff is always awkward. But last week I saw a stat online that said 40% of personal loans between family members never get paid back. That number really hit me. I finally sat down with him and we worked out a payment plan of $100 a month. He was actually relieved I brought it up because he felt guilty. Has anyone else had a similar conversation go way better than you expected?

Glad it worked out for you, I still owe my cousin $50 from three years ago and I'm just hoping he forgets at this point lol.

Yeah @kelly61 I'd probably just pay it back honestly... $50 is a lot to some people and your cousin might actually need it. Three years is a long time to carry that guilt around too. I've been there with a smaller amount and it just ate at me until I finally sent the money.
