Explaining to my dad that his 'investment' was a pyramid scheme took three years
He got into one of those 'gifting circle' things back in 2021, convinced it was a sure thing. Every holiday, I'd gently point out the red flags, like the lack of a real product. It finally clicked for him last month when the whole thing collapsed and the 'friend' who recruited him ghosted. The whole process involved maybe two dozen awkward chats over family dinners. Has anyone else had a relative fall for something like this and, if so, how did you get through to them?

Feel like these schemes should come with a warning label. My uncle still thinks his crypto-bro nephew is just "building his brand" after losing a down payment. Some people just need to see the empty stage after the show leaves town.
