Blew $200 on a meal prep service that sent me moldy chicken

I signed up for this fancy meal prep delivery service back in March because I was tired of eating fast food. First box came fine, but the second one had chicken that was green on the edges when I opened it. I emailed them and they gave me a $20 credit, so I gave them another shot. Third box came with missing ingredients and slimy veggies. I tried to cancel but they charged me for another month anyway. That's when I told my credit card company to block them, but I was still out like $200 total. Has anyone else dealt with those subscription services that make it impossible to quit?

That's the worst. Same thing happened to me with a different meal service - they kept charging me even after I hit the cancel button three times. Small claims court threat finally got them to refund everything. Next time just do a chargeback right away with your bank, no second chances for moldy food.

Right there with you @phoenixb66, the chargeback should have been the very first move. That $20 credit was them basically betting you'd stick around and forget to cancel. I had a similar thing with a different service, they sent a box with raw chicken juice leaking onto everything else underneath. Bank got my money back within a week after I filed the chargeback online. Don't waste your time with their customer service again, just let the credit card company handle it from now on.
