TIL to always clean connectors, and wow, it matters.

I skipped this step for years to save time. Started doing it last month, and already it caught a bad pin in a flight control system. Such a SIMPLE thing with BIG results.

My garage door started acting up last month. Realized I'd been putting off the simple WD-40 spray for years, and that tiny bit of grit was about to burn out the whole motor. It's wild how the stuff you skip to save five minutes always costs you five hours later.

Isn't it possible that over-maintaining can cause issues too? I've seen garage doors get GUNKED up from too much lube, where the extra spray just traps more grit. Sometimes skipping that quick fix forces you to address the real problem, like worn parts that need replacing. A little neglect might actually point you to the root cause faster.

Guess it depends on what you're cleaning.
