That one week a loose cannon plug on a King Air turned into a 3 day hangar nightmare in Wichita
Pulled a squawk on a King Air 200 last Monday saying the number 2 NAV kept dropping out in flight, so I figured it was just a dirty connector. After reseating the cannon plug behind the panel and shooting the pins with my Fluke, everything checked fine on the ground, but the pilot called back the next morning saying it failed again at 8,000 feet over Wichita. Turns out one of the pins had a hairline crack that only opened up with vibration and temp changes, and it took me almost 3 days of wiggling harnesses and borrowing a wiggle test rig from the shop next door to finally catch it. Has anyone else run into a pin that passed a static continuity check but fell apart once things started shaking?
