The painter who made me stop hating pearl jobs

I used to turn down any pearl white repair. That changed after a guy in Tacoma showed me his spray technique at a shop near the port. He laid three thin coats with a slower flash time. Told me, 'You're not painting a car, you're layering light.' That stuck with me, now I take those jobs. Anyone else get a trick from a stranger that flipped how they work?

That "layering light" stuff sounds nice but it's really just a fancy way of saying he spent more time on the job. Pearl is still a nightmare to match when the sun hits it wrong, and most customers won't pay for that extra effort anyway. Good for him if it works in Tacoma, but I'll keep passing on those headaches.
