The $2500 paint gun nobody should buy for production work
Watched another guy at the shop in Denver drop serious cash on that new SATA setup after watching a YouTube video. He spent a whole Friday fighting with it, then borrowed my old Iwata to finish the bumper. These high end guns are tuned for custom show cars with perfect airflow and controlled temps. Most of us spray in a dirty booth with a compressor that surges. You do not need a $2500 gun to lay down a solid single stage on a work truck. My $400 gun has done 300+ jobs without a single run complaint. The expensive stuff just makes you slower when you are fighting with settings. Anyone else stick with mid range guns after trying the expensive route?

Bought a used Devilbiss GTI once because everyone swore it was the best thing ever. Spent two days messing with air caps and fluid tips, then the needle started sticking on the third job. Swapped back to my backup gun and finished the whole side of a dump truck in under an hour without touching a single setting. These fancy guns need perfect air pressure and clean dry air around the clock, and most shops just don't have that. My mid range gun has taken a few drops, some dirty air, and a nasty clog from old hardener and still sprays flat every time. That $2500 gun is a show piece for guys who detail their tools more than they use them.
