Swapped my old siphon gun for a pressure feed, no going back
Ran a conventional siphon gun for 12 years at my shop in Tacoma, thought that was just how it was. Picked up a pressure feed setup last spring for a 68 Mustang job and the difference in metal flake control is night and day. My peel went down maybe 40 percent. Has anyone else made this switch and gone back, or am I the only one who thinks siphon guns belong in the dumpster?

Siphon guns belong in the dumpster? That's a strong take for a tool that's been around longer than most of us have been spraying. I get that the flake control is better, but 40 percent less peel sounds like it could also be a setup or technique thing, not just the gun type. Plenty of guys nail flake with a siphon if they thin it right and slow down. Give it a year and see if you still feel this way after a bad batch of paint or a clogged tip. I'm not saying pressure feed isn't good, just that calling siphon guns garbage feels like you're selling it a bit hard.
