Spent 4 hours chasing a paint run on a 2018 F-150 hood in Phoenix

Turns out the cheap clear coat I grabbed from a wholesaler last minute was too thin and I should have just driven 20 minutes to my usual supplier, has anyone else had a random batch of paint just not perform right?

Man that's the worst, had the same thing happen with some no-name primer last summer.

Yeah "some no-name primer" is exactly the kind of stuff that gets you into trouble. Funny thing is I actually had better luck with a cheap spray primer from the hardware store than I did with a name brand can from the hobby shop once. Turned out the hardware store stuff had way more solids in it and covered in half the coats. Kinda makes you wonder if the expensive stuff is just paying for the packaging sometimes.
