Saw a dent puller ruin a quarter panel at a shop in Phoenix last Tuesday
I was picking up parts at a collision shop I sometimes work with. One of their new guys tried using one of those glue puller kits on a crease that was way too sharp. He ended up stretching the metal bad and they had to cut it out. Made me rethink how I train my own helper. Anyone had a repair that went south from using the wrong tool?

Got a buddy in Tucson who swears by heating the panel first before touching any puller, says it lets the metal move without overstretching. He's been doing it for years on difficult body lines and rarely has to cut anything out now. Maybe it's something worth trying on that helper's next sharp crease.

Switched my helper to a slide hammer for sharp creases after watching a glue puller wreck a door skin on a test panel. Saved me a lot of headache since then.
