Yeah honestly I used to think cheap stuff was fine but you make a really good point here lol.

You call 200 hours a joke... but that's actually pretty solid for a budget compressor. Most of those cheap units are really only good for maybe 100-150 hours of real work before something gives out. You gotta remember these are built with parts that cost next to nothing to make, so expecting them to last like a commercial grade unit is just unrealistic. If you had spent twice as much on a name brand you'd probably still be running it, but for the price you paid you got what you paid for. I've seen guys run those little import motors right into the ground on purpose and they just buy another one when they fail.
