That night I thought I broke my telescope mount

I was out in my backyard in Tucson around 11pm trying to get a shot of the Andromeda galaxy. My mount just started making this grinding noise and the tracking totally stopped working. I was sure I'd stripped a gear or something and was already pricing replacement parts. Turns out I just had the clutch knob too tight and a gentle loosening fixed everything in 30 seconds. Anyone else ever panic over a simple fix like that?

The panic you felt in that moment probably happens way more than people admit. It's like when my truck makes a weird noise and I'm already planning a $500 repair before checking if it's just a loose gas cap. The brain jumps straight to the worst possible conclusion every single time. There's something about being in the middle of a hobby you care about where one small thing feels like the whole world ending. And the fix is always something stupid simple, like a knob or a screw that just needs a half turn. Makes you wonder how many times we do that with bigger problems in life too.
