Stacked 200 frames of Saturn and finally saw the Cassini gap
A guy on the imaging forum said my single-shot photos were leaving detail on the table, so I tried stacking last week with free software and now I'm embarrassed I didn't listen sooner.

finally saw the Cassini gap" is exactly how it goes, man. I read somewhere that stacking is basically the cheat code for planetary imaging because it pulls out the faint stuff your eye can't catch in a single frame. I tried it last month with a webcam and some free program, and the difference was night and day. The gap itself is such a tiny sliver, but once you see it, you can't unsee it. It's wild how much detail gets buried in noise until you let the software average it all out. I'm glad you posted this, because it got me to finally mess with my own settings again.
