Rant: My anti-dew heater attitude changed after a foggy night
I lost a shot of the Andromeda Galaxy to lens fog. That was enough to make me invest in a dew heater. My captures are cleaner now.

Dew point difference is the real thing to watch, not fog. My scope got covered in condensation last week when it was totally clear out, just because the temp dropped fast. That thin layer of moisture ruins the view way before you see actual fog. A basic heater strip on the lens cell stops it cold.

How often do you actually run the heater now, versus just keeping an eye on the dew point?
