Hit my 10,000th deep sky object last night and it was kinda anticlimactic
I've been logging everything I observe for about 7 years now, and my 10,000th object was this faint little galaxy in Coma Berenices that I almost skipped. Spent all night setting up the scope and waiting for perfect seeing, and when I finally got the number it just felt like another routine capture. Anyone else hit a big milestone in this hobby and feel like it didn't quite live up to the hype?

Hit 5000 once and the only thing I remember is tripping over my cat in the dark.

Always thought stories about blacking out were exaggerated until I had one of those nights myself. I woke up the next morning with a slice of pizza under my pillow and no memory of how it got there. My phone had a photo of me hugging a lamp post from like three blocks away. Completely changed my view on the whole thing. Now I actually get how someone could hit 5000 and only remember tripping over their cat.
