Hit 500 photos of the Orion Nebula last night, was not expecting that number

I was just stacking my last session from the backyard in Tucson and noticed my file count for M42 hit exactly 500 frames. Didn't plan it, just kept shooting over a few weeks with my old Canon T3i and a 200mm lens. Used DeepSkyStacker to combine them and the detail in the dust lanes was way better than I thought it would be. Has anyone else hit a milestone like that where the results surprised you?

Was not expecting that number" - yeah, I bet... that's like saying you weren't expecting to win the lottery after buying 500 tickets. You got 500 frames of M42 from a backyard in Tucson with a modded T3i? That's insane, man. I'm over here trying to get 20 good subs without clouds ruining everything and you're out there stacking enough to build a whole damn time-lapse movie. The dust lanes popping out better than expected just sounds like bragging at this point... but hey, I'm jealous. Maybe I should just tape my camera to a tripod and leave it running for a month like you did.
