Old timer told me to sharpen my chain after every tank of gas

Used to think he was being dramatic. Brushed it off for months. Finally tried it last week and my cuts are way cleaner and my saw doesn't buck as much. Anyone else do this or just me?

Oh man, sharp chain makes way less noise too, so you can actually hear if the saw is about to do something stupid before it happens.

My dad never sharpened his chains and they worked fine for 30 years.
