Had a major limb failure on a silver maple removal yesterday
The hinge cut closed up way faster than I expected and pinched my bar. I had to use a second saw with a plunge cut to free it, which added an hour to the job. What's your go-to method for dealing with a pinched bar on a tricky hinge?

Honestly, calling it a limb failure might be giving yourself too much credit, that's just a pinched bar. Happens to everyone with tricky wood. My go-to is always to have a couple plastic wedges on my belt. Tap one in above your cut as soon as you start the back cut, it keeps the kerf open. If it's already pinched, driving a wedge in can often free it without needing a whole second saw.

But what if your wedges just get stuck too?
