Dropped $400 on a hydraulic pole saw from a pawn shop in Reno, and it quit on the second job
The pump seal went out after maybe 6 hours of trimming and the shop would not take it back since I had already run it. Ended up paying $260 to fix a tool that was probably stolen in the first place. Anyone had luck buying used power gear, or do you just eat it and buy new?
Used gear is a gamble, and a pawn shop saw with no history is the worst bet. Why would a shop stand behind a tool they probably got for fifty bucks? Save up and buy new with a warranty next time.
