A squirrel chewed through my climb line mid-job and I didn't notice for 20 minutes
Three summers back I was doing a removal on a big silver maple in Davenport and had my rope set about 40 feet up. I kept hearing this weird scratching noise but figured it was just bark falling or a branch rubbing. After I got down and started packing up, I saw a squirrel sitting on a limb pretty much staring at me, and that's when I noticed the chewed up section of my line about 6 inches from my tie-in point. Turns out the little guy had been gnawing on it while I was up there making cuts. Now I always do a full line inspection before every climb, but I'm curious if anyone else has had wildlife mess with their gear mid-job.
