The whole 'just replace the board' advice is getting old
Read a comment last week where someone told a guy to toss a perfectly good dishwasher control board because it was cheaper than diagnosing. Yeah, maybe in a unit that costs $350 to replace, but I just fixed a Whirlpool from 2011 with a $6 relay and 20 minutes of soldering. Took the board out, found the cold solder joint on the transformer pins, reflowed it, done. Customer paid $80 instead of $400. I get that time is money, but we're turning into parts changers instead of repairers. Anybody else still out there actually fixing boards, or am I the only one holding onto my old Fluke meter like a security blanket?

Old board repairs are for hobbyists, not real money.
