That landlord special at a duplex off Foster Ave changed my testing routine
Got a call about a fridge that was cooling but the freezer kept frosting over. Showed up and found the door gasket was shredded, but the owner had just slapped on some foam tape as a temp fix. Replaced the gasket and did a dollar bill test around the seal, which is my usual move. Then I checked the evap fan and found it caked in ice because the defrost heater was dead. That combo of a bad gasket and a failed heater on the same unit made me start checking both on every frost complaint, no exceptions. Anyone else run into two separate causes on one call like that, or am I just lucky?
