Serious question, did anyone else write down every part number on paper before phones
For my first two hundred service calls I kept a little notebook in my shirt pocket and wrote down every model and serial number by hand, which meant digging it out with greasy fingers and squinting at a page later when the office called back. Now I just snap a photo of the tag with my phone and I can zoom in on a serial number while I'm standing in a customer's kitchen in Victorville, which saved me a second trip last Tuesday on a fridge that needed a $140 defrost board. How do you all keep track of model numbers when the tag is half rubbed off or tucked behind a water line?
