Question about the new Samsung Bespoke fridge I saw at the Chicago Home Show
I noticed the diagnostic port is now a USB-C connector instead of the old proprietary plug, which seems great for easier access but also makes me worry about customers trying to plug random things in and frying the board.

My old laptop has a USB-C port and I've definitely tried to shove a micro-USB cable in there out of pure habit, lmao. I can totally see someone's guest at a party going "oh your fridge needs a charge" and bricking the whole thing. It's a smart move for the techs, but they're gonna need a really obvious cover or a warning sticker shaped like a sad ice cube.

Honestly that's a legit worry. My old LG fridge had a regular USB port for service and my kid plugged a phone charger into it once. Totally locked up the display until I pulled the plug for a minute. Tbh the techs should really put a dummy cap or a bright cover over those ports at install. Ngl it's a good design change for them, but it's asking for trouble from curious hands.
