Pro tip: Stop guessing at ice maker water line fittings
I spent two years fighting Samsung ice makers in the San Fernando Valley, swapping out perfectly good water inlet valves because I thought the issue was low pressure. Turns out, those plastic compression fittings they use on the back will crack if you even look at them wrong, and I was creating pinhole leaks every time I cinched them down. Got a call from a retired Whirlpool guy who showed me how to check with a simple 30 psi gauge before touching anything. Anyone else find out late that a $12 tool could have saved them hours of return trips?

Slap a 1/4 turn ball valve on that line too while you're at it (makes swapping the fridge out a breeze instead of fighting those stupid saddle valves).

Oh man, saddle valves are the absolute worst... I've ripped out so many of those things that were either leaking or just totally clogged up. Putting a ball valve in there is such a good call because then you can actually shut the water off right at the fridge without crawling under the sink or the house. Plus, if you ever have to pull the fridge out to clean behind it or replace it, you're not spraying water everywhere while you fight with a compression fitting. Just makes life a whole lot easier for the next time you have to touch that line.
