Just realized some Samsung fridges have a hidden diagnostic mode I never knew about
I was digging into a customer's ice maker issue in a 2022 model and stumbled on a service manual PDF online. It mentioned pressing a specific button combo on the control panel to pull up error codes and run tests. I've been swapping boards and guessing for months on these things. Did a quick test on a fridge in my shop and it actually worked. Has anyone else found secret menus on other brands that save time?

OH WOW that is really cool actually! I found something similar on my mom's Whirlpool washer once. She was complaining it would NOT drain right and I was about to call a repair guy. Then I Googled around and found a hidden service mode by holding down two buttons at once. It flashed an error code that pointed to a clogged pump filter. I cleaned it out and the thing works PERFECT now. It's CRAZY how much info these appliances hide behind button combos. I bet every brand has some kind of secret diagnostic menu but they just don't tell anyone about it. Makes you wonder what else is hidden in other electronics like microwaves or ovens that could save us all a headache.

Has your mom tried that trick on any of her other appliances since then?
