Just realized popping pain meds before heavy lifts is dumb
Everyone on my crew swears by taking something for the ache before hauling washers or dryers. I used to do it too, thinking it helped me push through. But after my stomach got messed up from too many pills, I had to rethink. Now I focus on proper form and rest breaks instead. Tbh, masking pain just leads to bigger injuries down the line.
My old logic was "if the ibuprofen bottle has a weightlifter on it, it's basically pre-workout." Turns out masking pain just lets you wreck your back with better form. Now every twinge makes me paranoid I've broken something for real.
Yeah that's the scary part, when you realize pain is actually useful. I used to do the same thing and now I'm so careful it feels like I'm made of glass lol.
