Just had a customer in Phoenix tell me 'I could have fixed it myself for $20' after I spent 3 hours diagnosing a faulty control board in their fridge.

Three hours to find a bad board and they think it's a twenty dollar fix. That's wild.

Three hours of diagnosis and they tell you it's a twenty dollar part like LABOR doesn't exist. That's the part that gets me. They're acting like your time finding the issue is worth NOTHING. Next time I'll just tell the customer "hey give me twenty bucks and I'll stare at your machine for three hours for free." At least they'd be paying for my eyeballs instead of pretending the troubleshooting magically happens.
