Heard a contractor say he never cleans dryer vents, scared me
I overheard a guy at the hardware store bragging about skipping vent cleaning on 30 jobs last year to save time. That's a fire waiting to happen, especially with all that lint buildup in standard dryers. Has anyone else run into homeowners who don't know this is a risk?

30 bucks says that guy's next job is replacing a fried dryer or fighting a house fire. Lint buildup turns a normal cycle into a mini blast furnace, and skipping the cleanout is like saying "I'll roll the dice on burning down a bedroom." I've seen a clog so bad the vent was basically a solid tube of fuzz, took me an hour just to break it loose. Real smart move saving 20 minutes to risk a $40k insurance claim.

Right? Lint is no joke, I once pulled a clump out of a friend's vent that looked like it could've stuffed a whole couch cushion. Felt like I was defusing a bomb every time we ran that dryer after.
