Had to pick between a OEM belt and a cheap knockoff for a Samsung dryer yesterday

So I was fixing this dryer for a lady in Oak Park, the belt snapped and she needed it done fast. The local supplier had a genuine Samsung belt for $28 but it would take 2 days to get. The knockoff was $9 at the hardware store down the street. I went with the cheap one cause she was in a panic about her kids school uniforms being wet. Got it installed, ran a test cycle, everything seemed fine. But then 4 hours later she called back saying the drum was making a grinding noise. The knockoff belt had already started fraying and slipping. Had to go back, eat the cost, and order the OEM one anyway. Anyone else run into this where the cheap part just fails way too fast on a basic job like a dryer belt?
