Debated between OEM and aftermarket control board for a whirlpool dryer
Went with the $45 generic one and spent an extra 3 hours rewiring jumpers because the pinout was different. Has anyone else had luck with those universal boards or should I just stick with OEM from now on?

Yeah but you gotta be careful blaming the board, sounds like you might have grabbed the wrong universal model for your specific dryer. Those cheap boards usually list what machines they work with but sometimes the fine print says you still gotta match the harness connector layout. Next time check the tech sheet diagram first, I almost made that same mistake on a Kenmore last year.
