A customer told me my dryer vent cleaning was all wrong and showed me a better way

Last month I was doing a routine dryer vent cleaning at a house in Arlington. The homeowner watched me use my standard brush kit and just said "you're pushing all the lint back into the machine, not pulling it out." She showed me her method where you disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer first and blow compressed air from the outside in. Tried it on my next three jobs and the difference was night and day way more lint came out than I ever got before. Anyone else ever had a homeowner teach them something that actually worked better than the usual way you do it?

Can't believe you got that much out, I'd be scared to see what else is hiding in there.
