Why does nobody talk about recording your landlord during walkthroughs
My neighbor Denise caught me in the hallway last week and mentioned she films every walkthrough with her landlord on her phone, start to finish, including the meter readings. I always just trusted the paper checklist they hand you, but she got her full $850 deposit back in March while I got charged $200 for "wall scuffs" that were already there when I moved in. Now I'm wondering how many of us are just eating those bogus charges because we have zero proof of how the place looked. Anyone else started recording these, and does your landlord get weird about it when you pull out your phone?

Hiding the phone while filming makes landlords less weird about it, just act like you're texting the whole time.
